FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA) REQUESTS
All unprocessed Reagan Presidential records administered under the Presidential Records Act (PRA) may be requested by submitting a FOIA request. For further information you may want to look at these laws and regulations:
How to File a FOIA Request
FOIA requests must be submitted in writing. The Reagan Library will accept requests through regular mail, FAX, or e-mail. Include the following information in your request:
1. Your permanent address and phone number (as well as a fax number and email address, if available).
2. Write “FOIA Request” on both your letter and envelope (or in the subject line of your
e-mail). You may also use our FOIA Request Form.
3. Describe the records you want to access in as much detail as possible. Information that might provide such detail includes:
Names of specific White House offices or staff members
Specific events, speeches, issues, or folder titles
Specific or approximate dates of events, speeches, or records
Public Papers of the President finding aids found on this website.)
Topic finding aids contain much of the material requested under previous Freedom of Information Act Requests.
