Scope and Content Note

This topic guide primarily contains material related to D-Day anniversaries as well as correspondence to/from individuals who were involved in the events of June 6, 1944. Material related to the passing of General of the Army Omar Bradley on April 8, 1981, is included. On May 12, 1986, General Matthew Ridgway received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Material related to this specific Medal of Freedom presentation is also included.
